Emily and Matt found each other on a dating app, and their first date was over Labor Day weekend at “Yours Truly,” a cocktail lounge in River North. Emily thought he was quite handsome and had a great smile and Matt thought she was a beautiful young lady. They talked for several hours, and Matt even tried a martini for the first time (which he didn’t like). He walked her home and asked for her number, to which she said yes. he gave her a hug and then she kissed him on the cheek goodnight. Less than 24 hours later, Matt asked Emily out on their second date. The second was even better than the first, and was followed quickly by the third, fourth, and fifth dates…you get the picture. They played pickleball, practiced their golf swings, cooked dinners together, and had plenty of sushi. Every date left them feeling happy and excited for the next time they’d see each other. Matt proposed in Paris on a family vacation. It was just the two of them, cozy in the hotel lounge. He pulled out the ring, no box, and held it in his hands.
